Our Mission

We play the long games so your backlog gets shorter.

Eternal Mystic Frontier exists because we were tired of scored-out-of-ten reviews that finish a game in six hours. We spend 40+ hours in a world before we say a word about it — mapping its systems, its lore, and whether it respects your time. Every dispatch is written by someone who actually rolled credits.

How We Cover

Four steps from launch trailer to honest verdict.

Every title on the site moves through the same pipeline. No shortcuts, no early-access hype cycles.

    Deep Dive Playthrough

We commit a minimum of 40 hours per RPG and 15 per indie, journaling systems and bugs as we go so nothing gets glossed over in the write-up.

  2. Screenshot of a fantasy lore diagram with connected factions02

    Lore Cartography

Our resident loremaster diagrams timelines, factions, and hidden connections — the stuff that turns a good game into a world you think about on the bus.

    Systems Teardown

Combat math, economy loops, and difficulty curves get pulled apart so you know whether the grind is fair before you sink a paycheque into it.

The Crew

Six people, one very cluttered Gastown office.

Swipe through the writers, editors, and one very opinionated cat.

Priya Nair

Editor-in-Chief · RPGs

Clocked 900 hours in Baldur's Gate-likes and still finishes every side quest. Sets the 40-hour rule.

Marcus Bélanger

Loremaster

Turns tangled fantasy timelines into readable maps. Owns more lore wikis than furniture.

Sofia Reyes

Indie Scout

Combs itch.io every Friday so you don't have to. Discovered three of last year's award winners early.

Dev Okonkwo

Systems Analyst

Spreadsheets combat math for fun. If a difficulty curve lies to you, Dev finds out first.

Hana Sato

Managing Editor

Keeps six writers on deadline from a standing desk buried in energy-drink cans. The calm one.

Biscuit

Office Cat · QA

Walks across keyboards during boss fights. Has technically broken more builds than anyone.
